We build it one block at a time

Here's exactly how the first month goes.

1 · Initial call
Fifteen minutes. You talk, I listen, we decide if we're a fit.
2 · First visit
Individual session with your child to observe, assess, and begin building rapport. Parents join for part of it.
3 · The plan
What we're working toward, how we'll get there, and what to do at home.
4 · The work
Weekly sessions, check-ins, and adjustments along the way.

The doctor children ask to come back and see

I'm a child, adolescent, and family therapist with years of training in hospitals, outpatient clinics, independent schools, and private practice. I have specialized training in evidence-based interventions, and I tailor them to fit your child and your family. I use humor, honesty, and warmth to build real rapport, because kids can tell when someone is being genuine. I'm a firm believer that therapy should feel more like building something than fixing someone. Parents tell me two things: their child actually looks forward to sessions, and they finally feel like they know what to do at home. When I'm not working, you'll find me hiking, reading, or spending time with my family.

When a child is struggling, the whole family feels it. There's so much advice out there — and most of it misses what would make it work for real families: a plan and follow-up.
